2. Oceanic Voice - R.S. Pearson - 1:22
3. Neverlent (Night Commute) - Carl Juarez
- 4:43
A resetting of 'Siren of Impeachment' (from the
Sonicabal I compilation) against a Can-like rhythm
cycle. The lead vocal is a prominent American politican
speaking about 'heroin chic.' Thin plates of stainless
steel as they float through the sky are bent/taut
and bowed. Drums generated with Virtual Drummer
and placed via North Pole, electric bass improvised
direct to Performa 6500 (first and only take). Assembled
and mixed in Pro Tools.
4. Clangish_01 - Toby Paddock - 4:06
Hanging metal things with DIY piezo disk contact
mics. Radio Shack mixer; minidisc. As recorded.
No effects or EQ, but could use some.
5. I Will Rock You Personally - Xaxis Wye
- 2:45
6. Nimbus [live @ 5lowershop] - XI S IX
- 5:00

7. Autumn House Lock-out - R.S. Pearson
- 3:33
8. User16 (excerpt) - Toby Paddock - 6:31
Casio CTK-631 family home keyboard default preset
'user 16' with Alesis Wedge for 4 second delay.
The preset is a piano that crossfades to cheesy
strings. Gratuitous use of pitch wheel. As recorded
in one pass to cassette in 2000.
9. Nagapple - Carl Juarez - 5:08
In a process sense a reversal of 'Neverlent.' Samples
of percussionist Yaya Diallo cut up into a rhythmic
grid with stochastically-generated microtonal virtual
prepared/toy piano and effects overlaid. There is
no guitar. Assembled and mixed in Nuendo. Memories
of happy tribal bathtub times are evoked hypothetically.
10. Road Hog - Xaxis Wye - 5:32
11. Submission - Crunk Posby - 1:46
12. I + eye + I [live @ 5lowershop] - XI S IX
- 2:29

13. Summer Winds - R.S. Pearson - 19:30
14. Comp Info - Toby Paddock - 1:33
Comp info webpage url and mindless chatter as read
by Mr. Sonic Blue Animation Station. Ages 8+. Batteries
not included. (that generic computer voice you hear
everywhere) Tweaked with Soundforge XP. Background
is an excerpt of 'But Does It Have To Be So Screechy?'
from mid 1980s. Arp Odyssey and modified Radio Shack
Reverb straight to cassette. This is from a low
bandwidth mp3 because that's the only copy I could
find.
Notes, musings, and excuses:
There are some ticks, pops, and noises I can't spell
sprinkled around in there. I don't know where they
came from, but go ahead and blame me and I'll blame
my computer. Track 13 is pretty long for a comp,
but Robert didn't specifically submit it. He gave
me a cd of stuff and I liked the track and there
was room and so there it is. Tracks 5 and 10 were
played from cassette with an old walkman because
my cassette deck died. I've heard people say they
sometimes like the sound of an old cassette and
now I do to. Tracks 7 and 11 were mp3. Overall level
of some tracks was changed, but no other processing.
